Theย Baku Arbitration Centre (BAC) was formally inaugurated in Bakuย on 24โ25 October 2025 during the Azerbaijanย Arbitration Daysย Days conference, marking the establishment of the country’s first arbitral institution.
The launch of the BAC forms part of Azerbaijanโs wider justice-sector modernisation programme and reflects the governmentโs broader commitment to aligning national legislation with international standards. The Law on International Arbitration, adopted on 26 December 2023 and in force since 25 January 2024, provides the legislative foundation for this reform. It introduces a modernย arbitrationย framework alongside reforms aimed at codifying enforcement proceedings and enhancing efficiency, creditor protection, and legal certainty.
